Wheel covers fit around the rolling surface of a suitcase caster. They are different from a cover that wraps around the whole suitcase. Before ordering, inspect the actual wheels on your case rather than choosing by suitcase size or brand alone.
Four checks before buying
- Diameter: measure the outside diameter of the wheel.
- Width: measure the rolling surface and compare it with the cover specification.
- Shape: check the wheel profile and whether the design is a single or double caster.
- Clearance: allow for the cover's thickness. It must not rub against the fork, axle or neighbouring wheel.
About the Ashard ten-cover set
The current silicone caster cover set contains ten covers. The product specification lists 5, 5.5 and 6cm wheel diameters and a 10mm cover width. Those figures alone do not guarantee a fit: the shape and surrounding clearance must also work with your wheels. Check the product's compatibility illustrations before ordering.
How to fit and check a cover
- Remove dirt from the wheel and let it dry.
- Fit the silicone evenly around the rolling surface, following the product illustration.
- Check that the cover sits evenly and does not touch the axle or wheel housing.
- Rotate each wheel by hand, then roll the case gently on a level surface.
- If a cover catches, shifts or prevents smooth rotation, remove it and recheck compatibility before use.
Cleaning and use
The covers can be removed and washed with water. Let them dry before refitting. Check their position and condition regularly; stop using a cover if it is damaged or interferes with wheel movement.
Questions before purchase
Will they fit every suitcase?
No. Diameter is only one check. Wheel width, profile and clearance can prevent an otherwise similar wheel from accepting a cover.
Does a cover repair a broken caster?
No. Check a caster that sticks, wobbles or is damaged before fitting an accessory. A silicone cover is not a replacement for a wheel or axle.
Does the set include ten complete wheels?
No. It contains ten silicone covers. The suitcase and caster assemblies shown in product illustrations are not the contents of the set.
